The Health Center

Providing quality health care services is a top priority for our health care staff. From consultations with our full-time registered nurse to counseling with our social worker, we pride ourselves on meeting the needs of our Members from the time they’re born to their later stages in life.

Other services offered include:

  • Clinics once a week with a family doctor
  • A gym facility with knowledgeable gym attendants
  • Activities designed to boost both mental and physical health like Zumba classes and apple picking, thanks to our community health representative.

community health

Optimizing community health for all ages, both physically and mentally, is essential, especially in a time when depression, obesity, and sedentary lifestyles affect so many.

Thanks to the Community Health Representative, we offer many fun exercise classes, workshops on how to boost positive thinking, cooking classes, bike safety for kids, and so much more!

We take pride in our culture and community, so having a Cultural and Language Coordinator like Shawn Francis is essential to help ensure the safe transmission and promotion of Wolastoqiyik culture, language, and traditions.

For more information about our rich culture and ceremonies, please contact Shawn Francis at our Health Department.

Thanks to our Madawaska Elders Initiative (MEI), the Health Department now offers transportation in a medical passenger van to our Elders and community members via our Medical Driver, Roger Dunphy.

Roger ensures that members arrive at their appointments safely and on time, making it a crucial part of our healthcare services.

For more information about this service, please contact our Health Department.
